With “normal” life pausing for the past couple months, we find ourselves a bit disheveled as we come out of the safer-at-home order, and into a world with social distancing guidelines, mask mandates, and social upheaval. It can be daunting to try and regain a sense of normalcy with so much still happening in the world. Yet, it’s important to make strides no matter how small they may seem for our self-care. We’ve put a list together of 8 of the best outdoor activities that SWFL has to offer. Some of these may be known to many, while others are what we consider hidden treasures.

Peddle your way through the waterways of Marco Island and take in the beautiful sights. FYI, the boat comes equipped with a motor, in case you’re not really into peddling!
Take advantage of the boat ramp and canoe/kayak launch availability, or go for a walk on the beautiful trails. Koreshan State Park is an experience like no other, in which you can take a look back into the lives of a unique pioneer group that settled on site. Although the buildings are closed, you can still enjoy the history this park shares.
If you don’t mind a longer drive, you can take part in an incredible adventure of climbing and swinging through the trees in this adventure park.
Itching for a walk? Bird Rookery Swamp has got you covered with a 12-mile variety of hiking and biking trails. Starting this July, you will have the opportunity to sign up for their guided Wet Walk Wednesdays. Hurry up! Space is limited.
A perfect place to enjoy with the family! At Calusa Nature Center, you can enjoy trails, museum, outdoor animal exhibits, and live animal shows. The planetarium is currently closed.
