This is: The Alliance for the Arts

The Alliance for the Arts is a nonprofit arts center located in Fort Myers. They are a creative space that welcomes and promotes self expression and imagination. They do all of this through their encompassing programs and events. They carry their mission of transforming lives and improving the community through the arts within their hearts.

Lydia Black, the current executive director, came to the Alliance more than ten years ago. She is a firm believer of the third sector and a self proclaimed nonprofit junkie. Lydia and her team are doing a great job at keeping the organization going, and our Southwest Florida community served through these difficult times. They are helping families break the monotony of staying at home with fun and engaging events, such as virtual trivia game nights, art classes, creativity crate, and more.

Lydia’s favorite program right now is their drive-through green market. The organization was able to transform their Saturday market in order to keep serving the community during the pandemic. The market helps support local growers and vendors, you can participate by ordering online. They are also offering free yoga classes in partnership with Yoga Bird studio.
