Baby Registry Essentials

Source: Styled Stock Society

Finding out that you are pregnant is great and scary all at the same time, especially if you’re a first time mom, like me! You want to make sure that everything is ready for when the baby arrives and that you have at least the most essential things to make your life easier as you start getting used to this new stage of life. In this post, we'll cover some of the essential items to include on your registry.

Products in this story are independently curated. If you make a purchase or booking through one of our links we may earn a small commission (don’t worry, it’s at no extra cost to you).

  1. Strollers

Strollers are a safe and comfortable way to transport your child and make it easier for you to get around. There are different types of strollers, from jogging strollers to double strollers. I love this one because it is adjustable in different ways and it pretty much “grows” as your baby does.

2. Car Seat

Car seats are important because they keep children safe in the event of a car accident. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), car seats reduce the risk of death in a car crash by 70% for infants and 54% for toddlers. Make sure that you read that the car seat you are buying is the right one for your child’s age and weight.

3. Crib

This might be an obvious one, but a crib is super important for the baby to have her own space to sleep, and you can rest as well. I love this option because, just as the stroller, it “grows” with your child. The crib converts into a toddler bed and a sofa too.

4. Changing Table

Changing tables are so convenient to change your baby’s diaper and to get them dressed. They are also helpful to stay organized. I like this changing table because it serves as a dresser as well, which helps me optimize space.

5. Nursing Pillow

If you are breastfeeding your child, a nursing pillow will make the process much easier because it relieves pressure on your chest, prevents back pain, and it’s more comfortable for you and your baby. I love the Boppy one because it is steady, you can change the cover, and it is machine washable.

6. Diaper Pail

I think this one is important because the amount of diapers that come out with a new baby is crazy and I don’t want to go up and down the stairs every time the baby needs to be changed. This pail is odor locking, which is great when baby has stinky ones!

7. Bath tub

A baby bath tub provides an easy and safe way to give your baby a bath. The Frida baby bath tub is great because (once again) is a grow-with-baby option, which means it will last you for a good while.

8. Baby Gym

Baby Gyms are a great way for your child to develop motor skills, cognitive abilities, and for tummy time. The one I am linking here has 5 starts out of 18,000+ reviews, I think that speaks for itself.
