Needing a change of scenery for a day? Take a day trip to the East coast of Florida and visit the Aventura Mall. The mall is located about two hours away from the Naples/Fort Myers area. This mall has a special place in my heart because I used to visit this mall constantly when I was growing up spending my summers in the Hollywood area. They have expanded significantly since I went last, they have a food court with all types of cuisines, they added some of my favorite stores -like Anthropologie + Urban Outfitters-, and they even have the eclectic Aventura Market.

I spent most of the time shopping at the Aventura Market. The market is a weekend event that brings bakers, local growers, and artisans from all over South Florida to share their products in the middle of the mall. Our favorite picks from the market: Bread from Ciabella, handcrafted Colombian goods from Kana’s, and alfajores from Paula’s Bake Shop.
